Back
in the spring of 2003, we took a cruise of the Caribbean for with our good
friends John & Heather Brunet and Ken & Joan Rockburne. At the conclusion of the cruise we all decided
that we should do it again in ten years time to celebrate the 60th birthday of several
members of the group.
As
2013 approached, we agreed that a Mediterranean cruise would be wonderful but
unfortunately other commitments didn't allow us to book soon enough to get the
type of cruise we wanted. So we waited
until this year and booked a cruise with Celebrity Cruises that will visit many of the
popular spots in Southern Europe and Turkey.
We have also rented apartments in Barcelona and Venice to bookend the cruise. After we had booked the cruise, I realised that
Marg had never visited France, so we decided to extend our stay by visiting
Paris and the French Rivera. So in total we will be gone for five weeks from the
third week in May until the last week of June.

Last week our good friend Rocky, had a heart attack. The good news is that he appears to be making a full recovery but unfortunately they will not be able to travel with us. Of course we are all disappointed, especially the Rockburnes, but his full and speedy recovery trumps all other concerns.
So
here is our rough itinerary.
Paris 7

Barcelona 5

Nice 1

Florence 1

Rome 1

Naples 1

Santorini 1

Venice 4

I hope you will enjoy reading this blog. Of course I'll try my best to keep the blog
up to date, but the ridiculously expensive and slow Internet service on board
the boat, means that during the actual cruise the updates will be delayed.

Sounds awesome
